Once your patients arrive at the practice, quickly use Pre-Approval to see if they will be approved for CareCredit and to determine their estimated credit line. Then, as you discuss their candidacy for LASIK and the cost, you can give them the opportunity to pay over time with CareCredit. If the patient chooses a CareCredit plan, simply have them complete and submit the standard CareCredit application before the charge is processed.

- Log on to www.carecredit.com or ccware.
- Input the patient’s name, address and estimated procedure fee.
- In seconds you will know if the patient is Pre-Approved for CareCredit.
- If the patient is Pre-Approved, write the Authorization # and credit line on a blank CareCredit Application (spaces are provided on the top portion of the application) and process as you would normally do. Remember: you can always ask for a credit line increase if the initial amount granted is not sufficient.
- If the patient is not Pre-Approved you’re not obligated to inform them. But remember, there is a chance that the patient may still qualify for CareCredit if they submit a standard application or you may want to encourage them to find a co-signor.
